The Configuration Centre Manager (CCM) will report to the Technical Services Operations Manager (TSOM), working to high level business objectives, measuring operational success, and driving performance.

The Configuration Centre Manager will operate from the Configuration Centre managing demands from multiple departments to inspect, test and configure a range of EPOS based hardware. In addition, the Configuration Centre provides direct support for a range of projects including but not limited to pre-release testing, pilots, and engineer support.

This role requires an eye for detail, analytical experience, and a passion for developing the Team with. A suitable candidate will require excellent man management skills and an affinity for quality.

Communication with the relevant Project Teams and Warehouse is a key element for this role. The role will change and develop as the business grows and it adds new offers to our existing portfolio.

What will you be doing?

  • The Configuration Centre Manager (CCM) will be responsible for the overall performance of the Configuration Team.

  • Monitoring task performance against specification while maintaining quality. The CCM will be responsible for onboarding, mentoring, and developing technicians, ensuring performance reviews are completed and managing absence. In addition, you will work with the TSOM against business and department goals to develop, deploy and manage Objectives and KPI's for all members of the Configuration Centre.


  • Quality Management
  • The CCM will be responsible for overseeing overall quality of work as performed by the Technicians. This includes monitoring final quality, validating all quality steps have been performed from the point of hardware receipt to the release of finished product/hardware to the warehouse.

  • Developing and enhancing quality standards to meet client expectations. The CCM will manage yield and error rates of technical tasks ensuring that defects and errors are recognised and mitigated, preventing reoccurrence on future work.


  • Analysis and Reporting
  • The CCM will be responsible for providing analytical information and reports to the TSOM. This will require experience of base level data analysis using standard tools such as Microsoft Excel.

  • Provide both routine and adhoc reports and updates to the TSOM, illustrating the performance and trajectory of the department.


  • Task Planning, scheduling, and Assignment
  • Work with the Configuration Coordinator/Admin to relevant resources for upcoming tasks based on the expected workload. Understand Variance in day-to-day workload, managing any 'peaks and troughs', rescheduling work to meet availability.

  • Liaise with Project Managers to ensure that work can be performed while managing areas of risk.

  • Working with the TSOM to manage peak demand, utilising opportunities to provide resources for late entries on the schedule. In addition, the CCM will work against agreed build plans or custom schedules, validating prerequisites are in place and companywide tools (such as 'CMS') match forward planning mechanisms.


  • Stock Management
  • As the CCM you are responsible for all stock present within the Configuration Centre. This includes any hardware provided for during Configuration and any 'captive' tools and materials issued to perform activities.


  • Task Duration Management
  • The CCM will be responsible for maintaining task duration; minimising and reducing any tasks which fall outside of defined date ranges. Outstanding and overdue tasks must be addressed within expected tolerances, ensuring that all risks to our clients is mitigated, regardless of cause or department.


  • Efficiency management and optimisation
  • A significant part of the role involves understanding OTGI and its process. The CCM will need to recognise the overall effectiveness of the Configuration Centre Technicians per project, using available data to optimise or encourage a 'best practice'.

  • Manage technician time journals, ensuring all active technician time is recorded against the organisation's systems (CRM).


  • Health and Safety
  • The CCM will work with the H&S team to ensure the expected level of safety standards are adhered to such as compliance to PPE.


  • Other Duties
  • As the Configuration Centre Manager, you will be the face of the department, liaising with visitors, joining project meetings, and maintaining an organised, clean, and functional facility.

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Previous experience managing or supervising technical teams.

  • Competent in Process creation and maintenance.

  • Excellent organisation skills with experience in scheduling

  • Experience/knowledge of generic IT hardware and software, ideally within EPOS.

  • Sufficiently competent using Microsoft Excel or similar with experience using all other base MS Office applications such as PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.

  • Experience working directly within a Warehouse environment is desirable.

  • Be trustworthy and able to maintain confidentiality.

  • Be adaptive and flexible demonstrating a 'can do' attitude to a range of tasks.
