Care Home Cook / Chef

We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Cook to join our team at The Retreat Care Home. As a vital member of our staff, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious and delicious meals for our residents while adhering to dietary restrictions and preferences.

Hours: 7am - 4pm 4 days per week including alternate weekends

Responsibilities:

• Plan, prepare, and cook meals that meet the nutritional needs and preferences of our residents.



• Ensure that all meals are prepared and served on time according to our clients requests.



• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines.



• Collaborate with the care team to accommodate special dietary requirements and individual preferences.



• Monitor inventory levels and place orders for kitchen supplies as needed.



• Assist with menu planning and development, taking into consideration seasonal ingredients and resident feedback.



• Foster a positive dining experience for residents by providing excellent customer service and fostering a welcoming atmosphere.
  
  Proven experience as a Cook in a similar setting, preferably within a care home or healthcare facility.



• Knowledge of nutrition and dietary requirements, particularly for older adults.



• Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices.



• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.



• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.



• Flexibility to accommodate changing needs and schedules.
