As an apprentice you can earn a salary whilst studying for a professional qualification, fully funded by us. You'll also be assigned a mentor, have a structured development programme to support your ongoing personal and professional development and spend time contributing to meaningful real life projects.

The role:

You will gain practical experience of Building Surveying whilst you study towards a BSc (Hons) in Surveying with a leading University. Upon completion of your Degree, we'll provide support to help you achieve Chartered member of RICS. You'll play a key role in assisting with the delivery of professional surveying services, learning on and off the job from experienced professionals.

What you'll be doing:

  • Attending sites with experienced colleagues to conduct surveys, defect inspections and rectification on a range of refurbishment projects


  • Assisting the preparation of reports, contract documents and specifications


  • Performing support tasks associated with tender preparation and review of tenders received


  • Assisting and ultimately managing handovers including completion/checking of snagging and checking/validating paperwork


  • Assisting with costing of projects


  • Undertaking reviews of sites to understand and record risks, reporting back to Senior colleagues


  • Preparing and updating tracker documents to record progress in relation to various contractual matters such as section agreements, planning and handover information.


  • Liasing with clients, contractors and other third parties and assist senior team members with queries, The Practice is keen to assist individuals in developing work related professional interests. The Practice takes training seriously, providing practical and financial assistance to all personnel.

  • 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) grades C+ or 4+ including English and Maths

  • Equivalent to 112 UCAS Tariff points at level 3 (ideally including a maths related subject) or Advanced Diploma in a construction related topic


  • Knowledge
  • Confident user of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint)

  • A basic knowledge of building construction or a willingness to learn more about this

  • A willingness to learn more about standard forms of contract including the JCT suite of contracts

  • UK driving licence and access to transport
