Full Job Description

You will be working as part of the AUKUS capability team alongside the Shipbuilder Operations, Test & Commissioning, and Manufacturing Engineering organisations as well as Ministry of Defence and international colleagues develop manufacturing capability, build strategy and ensure identify opportunities for key build and test events.

  • You will develop manufacturing processes and/or methods of manufacture through capability acquisition approach to be capable of meeting and continuing to meet requirements for quality, cost and time.

  • You will work with interfacing teams across the enterprise and suppliers to ensure technical aspects of manufacturing processes are understood and accounted for as required.

  • You will plan and manage activities, communicating current status to relevant stakeholders.

  • You will be using capability development processes such as Manufacturing Capability Acquisition, New Product Introduction and Build in Quality tools such as process maps, Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEAs), and control plans.

    To work for Rolls-Royce Submarines you need to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you don't currently already have this in place. Due to the nature of work the business conducts and the protection of certain assets, you must hold a UK nationality.     To be successful in this role you will need to meet the following criteria:
  • Demonstrable experience within manufacturing engineering, project management or project engineering integration roles.

  • Customer facing experience including working on projects with a range of internal and external stakeholders

  • Excellent communications skills and the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation.

  • Analytical skills to interrogate data, create and oversee projects and be adept at technical problem solving.

    As a Build - Capability Lead you will be providing project management and technical expertise into the shipbuilder and wider alliance in support of the AUKUS project. This will involve providing build support to the AUKUS team, leading capability acquisition projects, build improvement projects, risk & opportunity identification and mitigation across the AUKUS PWR Build and Commissioning lifecycle.
