In the Customer ART we focus our work on how we can improve our existing technologies and ways of working, so that we can meet the ever-changing demands of our customers. Our customers include our agents in the contact centre, as well as the people of Yorkshire, who we provide clean and wastewater services to.
As we have adopted the agile ways of working, we are able to deliver small changes to the business in valuable increments. This allows us to work smarter and closer with the business, whilst tracking our progress against business plans and ensuring we are delivering value to the people we work with.

Where you fit in:
As our Business Analyst Apprentice you will work alongside other specialists to develop competence in:

  • Leading business analysis activities on multiple change initiatives, delivering requirements specification capable of being used to develop IT based services (bespoke software solutions, third party products and cloud-based solutions)

  • Working with key stakeholders to elicit, analyse and document all types of requirements in line with practice procedures, and methodologies to define acceptance criteria and support benefits realisation.

  • Translating business needs into specific requirements including UI design; Data models; business procedural changes and interface designs.

  • Ensuring thorough use of the Requirements Engineering model including elicitation, analysis, validation, documentation, and traceability of requirements.

  • Ensuring that User Acceptance Testing takes place for all deliverables and support any associated testing activities.

  • Proving and developing a deep understanding of business processes, business operating models and behaviours, identify opportunities creating an environment for delivering effective and sustainable change.

    To have 5 GCSE's grade A-C or 4-9 including English and mathematics

  • To have or be predicted 3 A-levels or equivalent in any subject grades A-C or at a minimum of a pass.

  • An I.T. and/or Business Studies qualification at level 2 or above is also preferred.


  • You will also benefit from having:
  • A keen eye for detail with an interest in analytics

  • Strong organisational skills.

  • An ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders at different levels across the organisation.

  • An ability to travel to our Head Office based in Buttershaw, Bradford daily.

  • The ability to pass the Yorkshire Water Occupational Health Screening Assessment.

    Recruitment Process

    To assess your skills effectively, our selection process includes an online assessment, assessment centre and a follow up 2nd stage interview with the hiring manager interview if you are successful at the 1st stage assessment centre.

    Closing date: 26th May 2024
    1st stage Assessment centres taking place on 18th or 19th June 2024.
    2nd stage interviews taking place from the 1st to the 5th July.
